What began as an idea to carry out a series of informal interviews with old friends has morphed into something else, a podcast!
The more I began to think about it, the more the idea developed into taking the interview recordings (my personal notes – an audio aid mΓ©moire if you will) and turn those into a podcast of some sort. Now I have not got the first idea about how to pod cast. Luckily I’ve found a couple of books on the subject and will be reading those in short order, in an attempt to cobble together some sort of a plan.
The first of these recordings will be with a very old friend of mine, Mike Canning. Mike is a legend in the world of BMX, a former World Champion in the sport, he is seen by many as one of the most prominent pioneers of the sport here in the UK. To me though, he was one of my mates, part of a crew of riders that ate, drank and slept BMX.
I’m unsure where I will take this idea. It could develop into something of a regular, no-holes-barred series of discussions and interviews with all sorts of people and on a range of subjects.
Mike and I will of course talk about BMX, but the main emphasis will be on how it has shaped our lives and made us into the people we are today.
So at the moment I’m amassing all of the information I need to put together a successful podcast. Once I’ve made the first one I’ll publish it somewhere that’s easily accessible for people to have a listen.
Until next time…. Adieu!
